With the beginning of EXPO 2020, the authorities announced the launch of 05 year multiple entry UAE tourist visa for all nationalities. Although, it was in news since last year, but the launch was delayed due to the COVID crisis. In this post, we will be answering to all your questions regarding this new visa. It’s application process, the documents required and the who all can apply for it.
Who can apply for 05 year multiple entry UAE tourist visa?
Well, the authorities have made it clear that this visa is available for all nationalities that are eligible to travel to UAE. The GOOD NEWS is that UAE has removed ‘vaccination’ as mandatory requirement for tourists entering it’s borders. So, we can say that pretty much any person with a valid nationality is eligible to apply for this visa.
What are the documents required for the application process?
The documents required for 05 year multiple entry UAE tourist visa are, namely;
- Passport copy with minimum 06 months validity at the time of travel
- Colored passport size photograph with white background
- Bank statement for the last 06 months with at least 4000$ balance
- Travel insurance
Passport
The documents required include your passport with minimum 06 months validity at the time of travel. For Indians, both ECR and ECNR passports can apply. If you are going for an online application, make sure that the passport copy is scanned through a proper scanner. All the details and barcodes should be clearly visible. These things are important as many a times, this becomes the reason for visa rejection. You should keep a note that the visa fees in most cases is non-refundable.
Photograph
The next one is a clear passport size photograph with white background. We recommend you to be careful in this as most of the countries would reject your visa application in case half or a part of your face is covered. However, most Islamic countries allow the use of head scarf for ladies any other such clothing which is mandatory in a person’s religion.
Recommendation
Another thing to be careful about is to make sure not to wear reading glasses or clear specs in the photograph as face scanners are unable to identify and match your facial features due to this and it may become another reason for visa rejection or delay at the time of your immigration at the time of arrival at the airport.
The recommended photo size is 35mm x 55mm, however, it may vary from embassy to embassy. So, do check with your embassy for the photo size before making any physical application for your visa. In case of online applications, use a photograph with ‘Matt’ finish. Also, your complete face should be visible along with your shoulders.
Important note
Another important thing to keep in mind for online applications is to upload a scanned copy of your photo and if your clicking a picture with your phone then make sure to disable the flash to get a clear photo.
Some guests, do ask for the attire that they should wear in the photograph. There is no hard and fast rule regarding this, but most western countries prefer western attire for business visa applications. This is also a preference in GCC countries.
Bank statement
This visa makes it mandatory for the applicant to attach his/her bank statement for the last 06 months. The bank statement should be certified by the respective bank. Also, the minimum AQB (Average Quarterly Balance) should not be less than 4000$ or it’s equivalent in international currency. For Indians, this can be calculated as 300,000 INR. For details in this regard, you can contact our visa team on email or phone to confirm whether your bank statement would be acceptable or not. We have seen that in most cases, the AQB is not sufficient and has to be maintained accordingly.
Travel insurance
Travel insurance is also required, at the time of application of this multiple entry UAE visa. Your insurance should be valid for 06 months/ 01 year allowing multiple entries to the GCC countries with a stay of up to 90 days on each visit. The insurance may cost you around 160 AED to 780 AED depending on the age of the applicant. The price range for Indian travelers is Rs3500 to Rs13000 (excluding taxes). Do note that your insurance policy should clearly mention that it is valid in United Arab Emirates, otherwise, there may be an issue in the visa processing.

Can I apply for 5 year Multiple entry UAE tourist visa online?
As far as the application process is concerned, the 5 year Multiple entry UAE tourist visa can be applied online. The online process, however, has some hiccups, as the website available for application has some bugs and still working on beta version. We got complaints from guests who opted for the online procedure that the payment page also had minor issues due to which the payment got stuck. And the refund process cannot be initiated without the continuous support of the customer care center.
Important note:
Another important aspect of online application is that you need local contact details and addresses which the immigration department closely scrutinizes. Any discrepancy in the submitted information may lead to rejection or even worst, blacklisting of the applicant. This means that the applicant may be barred to enter UAE for as long as the immigration department deems fit.
